First Holy Communion classes

The children have recently planted daffodil bulbs as examples of plant life that just grows where the seed is placed. As you can see from the photograph these have grown and are even beginning to flower!

Our second photo shows some of the children acting out some miracle scenes from the Gospel. Jesus gives us back our lives.

The aim of our activities is to show that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is at the service of life, and for us the restoration of life is about repairing our relationships. After half term we will be holding our philosophers’ café discussing the moral issues that confront seven and eight year olds – not much different in essence to those that confront us as adults!

I would like to thank our catechists especially Kathryn James who has organised the weekly sessions and to all the assistant parent Catechists for whom being a catechist is a new experience.

Please pray for the children who will be making their First Holy Communion on Saturday 11th May 2019.

First Holy Communion

We will be using the book 'I Belong' As we go through each chapter we will look at our life experience, read a story from the Old and New Testament, learn about and prepare to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist and encourage the children to share what they have learned with their families. Watch this space as we begin this important spiritual journey.
