On Saturday we were treated to performances of ‘Twin Piques’, this year's murder mystery play written by Joe Early. The cast of Colin Messenger, Sarah Boyle, Julia Solomon, Andrea McGuinness and Vicky Phelan gave sterling performances and had the audience gripped as they were tasked with playing detective. From the many clues the audience attempted to determine if in fact a murder had occurred. At each performance two different tables used their extreme powers of deduction to crack the plot and work out the mystery. A tie-break question then confirmed the true winners.
Many of the audience came dressed up as their favourite detective, which really added to the atmostphere. The best dressed winners were: at the matinee Arianne Barboza as Miss Marple and Max Onabanjo-James as Sherlock Holmes, and at the evening performance Frances and Cliff Soiza as Miss Marple and Inspector Maigret. In all the excitement of the evening Frances and Cliff were not presented with their prize; please come along next year to collect it! Congratulations to them all.
Both the matinee and evening performances were a roaring success and universally agreed to be the best murder mystery ever performed at St Margaret’s.
See you all next year.
PS The team is always looking for new actors, so put yourselves forward to ensure we have a 13th year…
