Pastoral Council Meeting

Last week the Parish Pastoral Council held an open meeting to explain the events planned for the coming year. It was also the opportunity to introduce Lily McCaw who is looking after Parish Life, and Sean d’Souza who is looking after Pastoral Outreach. They have generously offered to take over from Lucia Martinez and Siobhan Bryant respectively.

Highlights of the next few months include two Parish social activities; Lunch after the Patronal Feast Day on Sunday 18th November and Family Dinner on the eve of Epiphany, Saturday 5th January; Lunch for the homeless on Sunday 30th December; the hosting of Alpha; the autumn clean of the Church on Saturday 24th November, plus much more.

Please collect a Parish Dairy of events at the back of the Church if you are interested in finding out more. The diary is a continual work in progress and more events will be added as the year progresses.

I was very grateful to those who came to the meeting and expressed their views about St Margaret’s, and for the favourable reception of the proposals to renew the Hall and basement in summer 2019. Further work must be done of this to ascertain the costs, and to seek approval from the Diocesan authorities before a formal presentation to the Parish.
